“One of the deep secrets of life is that all that is really worth the doing is what we do for others.”
― Lewis Carroll
Time can fix your bad decisions, but not bad decision making without your help.
A past decision itself is never worth the time we tend to spend figuring out if it was a good choice or not. But an even greater waste of your time is to complain in the present about a bad decision you already made. Worst still, is to make your own decisions other peoples baby when things don't work out. Own your decisions for what they are, good or bad. Do this and you are more than welcome then to take the credit if things do work out, the ones who helped you along the way will understand and even support it.
Good decision making however, is never accidental or an act of luck.
The way you go about making decisions in your life, is something you should spend each waking moment on improving. It prevents the replay of the same bad decisions you already know never turns out good. Going through a bad patch sucks, going through a similar bad patch over and over, is under your own control to change.
There needs to be a process behind it, you can't wing the act of making decisions. As people we tend to support ideas more if there is clear logic to them, not when they are driven by emotions. Your decisions will never get support from others without it, no matter how good the actual decision might seem.
As the saying goes, the more you practise the luckier you get. What it fails to mention is, the repetition it take to get there will never happen without the act of a good decision making process in place.
Be in love with being uncomfortable.
Lets be honest, no one likes the act of being uncomfortable. Few people stay on this path long enough to become use to it, it is so easy to quit.
But put yourself enough in situations which make you uneasy, solving difficult things will eventually become your "normal". There is a weird peace which follows in life if you allow it to first strip you down to a raw and uncomfortable place. It clears up the small perspective about your world you project through your eyes and tint the very things we see back into them. It help you spot BS from a mile away and avoid getting surrounded by small people with negative thoughts. You learn it is what you make and see through the goodness of your soul which will stay here long after any other material assets are gone.
Question is, what are you projecting out into the world and is it a beautiful yet uncomfortable picture?
