Eddie Hunter is officially one of my new heroes. Stumbled upon this video called The Wise Man about 88 year old Eddie Hunter. Love people who have a clear sense of what life is about. In the video he speaks about the moment in life he is in, his outlook on his present and past. He calls it his piano years. Because a piano has 88 keys. Looking back today, some of his years are white and some are black. Life, as with nature, is constantly in flux. But you need to have the changes in your years to have harmony in life. It can’t be all good, or all bad.
A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool - William Shakespeare
Makes me wonder about the present. If I’m a 88 years old, will this year be a black key or white key? Is this a good time in my life, or is this a bad time of my life and that things are going to improve from here? Maybe a good thing to look and learn from Eddie. Things just are what they are. There will be some awesome years, and some less awesome years. It is about planning to always have good years. Except that seasons change and to appreciate the good stuff, you have to risk putting up with some difficult seasons.
Looking at where Eddie is today, I can only lookup to him and hope that at some point, harmony will find its way. Would be amazing to be as able and clear minded as Eddie in his piano year.
