I’m sitting today, staring at my bucket list / wish list / to-do-list and wondering why it is taking so long to check these items off. Surely this is a inventory of the things I want to spend every moment working towards?
We can always point to the financial part of checking off this list. Is that the reason we are procrastinating on this crucial part of what is our own identity? No, that's not it. I would know because some of my own bucket list items would not cost money to complete. Or is it that we are to worried about what others might discover if we share it with the world. Difficult to imagine that as well, who wouldn't want to base jump into a cave (yes I do get vertigo at heights).
I cannot help but think that we (present company included) are not achieving these items, comes down to a simple fact. We are making achieving our goals solo projects. Not just solo projects, but hidden-in-a-vault solo projects. And as such, it is easy to sit back and not do anything about starting. Because at the end of the day, it is only you as the individual holding on to your dream, that would know you aren't doing anything about it. Without creating accountability to yourself and to others, you will never live your dream.
Maybe you are reading this in a coffee shop. Or on the way to work (while stationary of course). Or in the office. Regardless of where you are now. The person sitting next to you or standing behind you at the till might just hold the answer to completing one of your bucket list items.
This is me, putting my dreams out there. I would love to compete in the running event in less than 280 days time. No, this is no exotic holiday. It is a 250 kilometer / 155 mile, 6-stage, 7-day, self-supported stage race. And no, I don't a need Prozac prescription for wanting to do this, thank you.

Maybe you have some training advice on how to run far (really far). Or have some knowledge on how to ensure I get the correct nutrition before and during the race. No, banting is not the answer I can assure you. Did I mention it would be awesome if I could hitch a lift with your corporate jet that just happens to be in Ecuador in 280 days time?? (insert smiley face here:)
I challenge you to put your own dormant dreams out there today. Who knows what part of your own list is something the person next to you might be holding part of the puzzle to. Go out there, find your superheroes and become a superhero in return. Ask the person in front of you, how you can help in getting their bucket a little emptier today.
What is the one item on your list you would love to complete today? Let's start a journey. #LightenTheBucket
